Avancem caminant
Avancem caminant is an initiative that aims to promote and facilitate that students go to school on foot through a safe route.
It is a project promoted by the Sueca City Council and is carried out in primary schools.
This initiative aims to promote walking trips in order to create healthy habits and reduce the environmental impact of daily travel.
This project is coordinated by the Consorci de la Ribera and involves 7 schools in the municipality of Sueca:
- Escola Jardí de l’Ateneu
- CEIP Cervantes
- CEIP Carrasquer
- Lluís Vives School
- Nuestra Señora de Fátima School
- María Auxiliadora School
- Unión Cristiana School

During the project, surveys were carried out to understand the mobility habits of the school community, as well as the design and implementation of school routes.
Awareness activities and campaigns on sustainable mobility were also organized, and pilot ‘walking bus’ experiences were carried out in each school using new technologies.
Project start: April 2016
Project end: May 2018
