EmpleaXúquer: Learning while working to restore, promote and protect the Júcar river ecosystem
Description
The project aims to improve the skills and competencies of more than 40 unemployed people from La Ribera, for the development of restoration, conservation and promotion of river ecosystems in the Júcar river area and thus reduce the impact of floods in our region. The project has a duration of 24 months throughout 2025 and 2026. It consists of an initial phase of free training from June to July 2025 and a second phase of hiring 16 ecological restoration workers for 12 months and 5 nature agents for 14 months.
Objectives
The project actions aim to cover the training needs identified for the promotion of aquatic ecosystems, through practical training and the hiring of 2 priority occupations linked to the conservation and promotion of river ecosystems:
a) Ecological restoration worker: responsible for the implementation of restoration and maintenance actions of restored aquatic ecosystems.
b) Nature promotion agents: responsible for carrying out dissemination, awareness and promotion activities of Mediterranean river ecosystems.
Actions
For this purpose, the project includes the development of 5 training actions:
- Management, promotion and protection of river and aquatic ecosystems in the Mediterranean area. The Júcar river ecosystem (FP01).
- Maintenance and restoration techniques of river ecosystems (FP02)
- Design and implementation of nature promotion and awareness actions (FP03)
- Soft skills for ecosystem restoration and promotion (FP04)
- Equality of opportunities between men and women applied to ecosystem restoration and promotion (FP05)
Later, after the training stage, 2 recruitment actions will be carried out:
i) Employment contract of 16 Ecological Restoration Workers (C01)
ii) Employment contract of 5 Nature Promotion Agents (C02)
